A Family-Friendly Great Room with Vibrant Personality for our young and creative clients' new home. Designed for a growing family, this space combines bold design elements, natural materials, and ample light to balance function and style.
For this Melrose District family home, we designed a great room that merges clean, modern lines with playful midcentury-inspired details. The centerpiece of the space is a custom fireplace wall, elevated by bold geometric wallpaper that perfectly captures the clients’ love for color and pattern. Large windows flood the room with natural light, highlighting the warm tones of the hardwood floors and creating a seamless connection to the outdoors.
To reflect the clients’ love for midcentury modern design, we incorporated geometric shapes and natural materials throughout the space. These elements bring cohesion and depth while ensuring a family-friendly entertainment space for their two children. The room balances vibrant, funky accents with a grounded aesthetic, offering a space that feels lively and fresh yet captures the homes 1960s historic roots.
Our process began with a mood board to establish the desired palette and design elements, followed by a detailed furniture plan to map out functionality. The design was developed in 2D before being brought to life with 3D renderings, providing the clients with a clear vision of how their great room would come together. The result is a personalized and visually striking space where the family can gather, relax, and thrive.
